On a fall evening at Memorial Stadium right before kickoff you might have heard this phrase echo through the stadium on a Friday night, "Here we Goooooooo!" Have you ever wondered who that voice belongs too?

That is the voice of Kevin Thomas. Kevin is a graduate of the Harrisonville High School Class of 1983. He attended Central Missouri State University (UCM) where he graduated in 1988 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Broadcasting and Film with a minor in Speech and Communication.

Upon graduation Kevin returned to Harrisonville and began working at Consolidated Freight in Kansas City. Looking to give back to his community, and as a way to use his degree he began volunteering his time as the public address announcer for the Cass County Junior Athletic Association youth football games at North Park in Harrisonville from 1988 to 1990. In the beginning he would announce those games from the bed of a pickup truck atop of scaffolding before a press box was constructed. Kevin would do as many as 6 games in one day from flag division through 7th grade.

In 1991 with the help of his friend and spotter Richard Cornell they approached the Activities Director at HHS about announcing the 8th grade, freshman and junior varsity games. Kevin would hold this position from 1991-2000. In 2001 he was given the opportunity to take over as the public address announcer for the varsity games. Kevin has filled this role, and is heading into his 16th season.

Kevin reached a milestone on November 6, 2015 by announcing his 100th Varsity football game at Harrisonville. He was presented a trophy on behalf of the Cass R-9 School District for his dedication to the program. It was presented at halftime of the game against Center by Superintendent Frank Dahman.

Kevin was also honored in the Spring of 2016 Missouri Interscholastic Athletic Administrator's Conference. He would receive the MSHSAA Distinguished Service Award for his years of service as the Harrisonville public address announcer.

In his 30 season's of announcing Kevin hasn't missed a game, nor has he received any compensation from the school district for his duties. He has done it out of his love for the community, and his love of the game of football.
